WATCH: Florida’s Tom Petty tribute is even cooler under the lights at The Swamp

When legendary rocker Tom Petty passed away a couple of weeks ago, the Florida Gators decided to honor the Gainesville native by playing “I Won’t Back Down” at the end of the third quarter at The Swamp.
The moment was so incredible that the Gators decided to make it a regular tradition, doing it again on Saturday night against Texas A&M.
As you can see in the videos below, the tribute to Petty is even cooler under the lights with fans waving their cell phone lights:

So far, the Gators haven’t backed down against the Aggies, leading their SEC foes 17-13 early in the fourth quarter.
If Florida manages to hold on for an important win, the tradition may just become a long-standing thing at The Swamp.
