WATCH: Mike Leach goes on epic rant against the CFP committee

Washington State coach Mike Leach is never afraid to speak his mind, and it should surprise no one that he has some strong thoughts on the College Football Playoff committee.
Leach’s Cougars are at No. 13 in the latest rankings, but that doesn’t really matter to the coach, who still thinks the selection process is flawed.
As you can see in the video below, shared on Twitter by reporter Lindsay Joy, Leach laments the fact that some of the members of the selection committee have no ties to college football:

“We’re in America and we love committees,” he says. “Let’s get us a committee. Well, who should be on the committee? Well, I don’t know. This guy’s a good guy, let’s have him on the committee. There are people on the committee who don’t even have remote associations with football, nor have they at any level, other than being a fan. But you know what? Let’s have them on the committee. Why not?”
Leach goes on to say the Playoff should be expanded and also adds that some of the lower levels of college football keep changing initials to confuse people.
Obviously, the Cougars would directly benefit from an expanded Playoff this year, but Leach also makes a good point. Perhaps an eight-team Playoff is the future, as that would allow all five Power 5 conference champions to make it to the tournament, with three at-large bids remaining.
