Last year’s performance from Mississippi State in the annual Egg Bowl was impressive. The Bulldogs beat the Rebels 55-20, which provided the largest margin of victory in the game since Ole Miss won 45-0 back in 2008.

Nick Fitzgerald put up eye-popping numbers, but not in the way that you would expect. He only managed to throw for 109 yards, but he also delivered three touchdowns through the air — in addition to 258 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

To say he knows the importance of the Egg Bowl would be the understatement, and he’s apparently treated the trophy extremely well since bringing it home to Starkville.

On Wednesday, Fitzgerald joined Laura Rutledge with the SEC Network, and he even went as far as to give the trophy a new nickname: bae.

Check out the video below:

The Bulldogs will be looking to hang on to bae for at least another year as they welcome the 5-6 Rebels to Starkville on Saturday at 7:30 PM ET.
