It might be best for Tennessee athletic director John Currie to just stay out of the public eye until he hires a new head football coach.

Or, perhaps, he should at least get a bodyguard.

A good portion of the Volunteers’ fan base wants Currie to land Monday Night Football commentator and former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden.

Rumors about Gruden to UT have been circulating for weeks. Whether or not that’s a good thing, it won’t stop Vols fans from having their voices heard.

On Saturday night as Currie was walking out of Neyland Stadium following the Tennessee-LSU game — which the Vols lost 30-10 — one Tennessee fan was making his voice heard.

Loudly and proudly, right in Currie’s ears.

This has to be annoying for Currie, but at least the message is getting across.
