WATCH: Tim Tebow speaks about MLB goals, what he expects from this season

Former Florida QB and current SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow is getting ready to embark on another season of minor league baseball, and this year will come with big expectations.
That’s because, on Sunday, New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson said he thinks Tebow can play in the big leagues at some point.
During Tebow’s press conference, he responded to that statement, saying it is only beneficial for him to focus on the present, and let whatever happens, happen, as you can see in the video below, shared by @AnthonyDiComo on Twitter:

“My goal isn’t about what’s going to happen one day,” he said. “My goal is to focus on this day — our outfield work, my training session, getting to know all our new coaches. I’m working as hard as I can. One of the important things about being an athlete is being able to lock in and have tunnel vision, because I can’t worry about if one day I’m going to play in the bigs or not. I got into this because I love it, I’m passionate about it, and for me it’s about being able to lock in and have tunnel vision regardless of what team I’m on or where they decide to put me.”
Tebow will likely start this year in single-A, perhaps working his way up to double-A if he has a hot start. After hitting just .226 with eight home runs and 52 RBI last season, he’ll need to perform a bit better before he earns what could be the next in a potentially long line of call-ups.
