We have officially seen the first “fat guy touchdown” of the year.
It happened midway through the third quarter of a game between UAB and Alabama A&M with the Blazers leading 17-7 in their first game back since shutting down the football program in December 2014.
UAB 340-pound defensive tackle Anthony Rush scored a 30-yard touchdown off an interception after he batted a pass in the air and caught it himself, eventually trudging into the end zone.
Check out the best video of the year so far:

This play should have a pretty good chance of making SportsCenter’s Top 10 on Saturday night.
Fat guy touchdowns are the best.
