Ranking the Top 25 based on what we saw on the field Saturday, here’s how the Week 13 AP Top 25 should have looked. Comments where deserving:
1. Alabama (10-1) — The Crimson Tide are clearly the best team in college football. Their defense has allowed just 13 first-quarter points all season.

2. Clemson (11-0) — Unless North Carolina can pull off the major upset in the ACC Championship, it looks like Clemson is a lock to go undefeated because let’s be honest, the Tigers aren’t losing to South Carolina.
3. Notre Dame (10-1) — Notre Dame has easily the best loss of any one-loss team in the nation (at Clemson by two). Just about every fan base will be rooting for Stanford next week.
4. Oklahoma (10-1) — The Sooners suffered a major scare Saturday in a one-point win over TCU, but if Oklahoma can come out on top in Stillwater next week they’re the clear Big 12 winner.
5. Iowa (11-0) — Without a signature win the Hawkeyes will have to go undefeated to make the final four. It’s possible the Big Ten’s chance to get in the Playoff rests solely on Iowa’s shoulders.
6. Michigan State (10-1) — Does a one-loss Michigan State team make it over a one loss Oklahoma team?
7. Baylor (9-1)
8. Ohio State (10-1) — The Buckeyes need a win and a Michigan State loss to reach the Big Ten Championship Game.
9. Florida (10-1) — Nobody thinks the Gators will beat Alabama in the SEC Championship. Not many are giving them a chance against rival Florida Sate on Saturday.
10. Oklahoma State (10-1) — Oklahoma State’s loss to Baylor is the worst thing that’s happened to the Big 12’s claim to the title this season.
11. Michigan (9-2) — Michigan is a botched punt from having a serious claim to the playoffs. Jim Harbaugh could very well win Coach of the Year in his first season in Ann Arbor.
12. North Carolina (10-1) — It’s Nov. 22 and the UNC football team has as many losses as the basketball team.
13. Navy (9-1) — With its only loss to Notre Dame, there’s no reason the Midshipmen should be held out of the Top 10 if they win out.
14. Stanford (9-2) — Stanford remains the highest ranked team in a Pac-12 that has severely disappointed this season.
15. Florida State (9-2) — The Seminoles could all but eliminate the Gators’ claim to the top four on Saturday.
16. TCU (9-2)
17. Northwestern (9-2)
18. Ole Miss (8-3) — The Rebels may go down as the only team to beat Alabama this season. Ole Miss is easily one of the most talented teams in the top 25.
19. Mississippi State (8-3) — In a wild finish against Arkansas, the Bulldogs remained relevant with a victory 51-50. With three losses to three top SEC opponents, could you imagine what Mississippi State’s record would be if they weren’t in the SEC.
20. Oregon (8-3)
21. Houston (10-1)
22. Washington State (8-3)
23. UCLA (8-3)
24. Toledo (9-1)
25. LSU (7-3) — Next week looks like it may be Les Miles’ last in Baton Rouge. This was the No. 2 team in the country a month ago.
