Tracking the GameDay bias: Time allotted per conference, Week 2

College GameDay settled down in East Lansing, Michigan, during Week 2 of 2015, and with conference play starting for some teams, the story lines are starting to ramp up.

GameDay not only focused on the title game this week, Oregon at Michigan State, but also gave a decent amount of time to that game’s sister matchup: Oregon State at Michigan. Jim Harbaugh’s first game at the Big House generated a “Michigan Man” montage of Harbaugh as a player, as well as boos from the Spartan crowd.

The segment that got the longest time, however, was a berating of the state of Texas football from pretty much every analyst at the desk. They referred to the Longhorns’ loss to Notre Dame as embarrassing, demoralizing and spent more than 7 minutes elaborating on that theme.

When looking at the breakdown, the time spent discussing each conference evened out drastically compared to last week. The Pac-12 received the most amount of time on today’s show, beating out the SEC by a minute and five seconds. Out of the Power 5 conferences, the ACC continues to be the quietest.

Conference Time Allotted Total Time This Season
Pac-12 24:32 37:56
SEC 23:27 1:03:51
Big Ten 23:20 46:25
Big 12 19:16 29:57
ACC 7:49 11:51
BYU 5:32 9:51
Notre Dame 4:27 10:40
Mountain West 3:06 3:48
