Week 2 SEC betting lines: Kentucky, Mizzou installed as single-digit favorites
Apparently Missouri didn’t impress Las Vegas much during Saturday’s 20-point win against South Dakota State.
The 24th-ranked Tigers travel to Toledo to take on Gary Pinkel’s old program next weekend (noon ET), and Vegas has installed Missouri as a six-point favorite.
CG Technology released its early college football lines for Week 2 on Sunday afternoon, and Kentucky (-9.5 vs. Ohio) is the only other SEC school favored by fewer than double digits.
That’s discounting Vanderbilt, an 18-point home dog against Ole Miss. Speaking of the Commodores, did anyone else catch the tumbling line in Vegas hours before the rain-delayed kickoff in Nashville on Thursday night? Installed as an early 16-point home favorite, the number dipped to 13.5 by Thursday, then plummeted to just eight points as kickoff approached.
Apparently there were some very rich, or very respected, gamblers who didn’t figure the Vandy offense could muster 14 points. They were right, of course, as Temple thrashed them, 37-7, on the strength of seven forced turnovers.
Here are the early Week 2 lines. Three SEC schools face FCS opponents. Since those schools aren’t as well-known, Vegas typically releases those lines much closer to game time to mitigate risk.

The total in the South Carolina-Texas A&M game also picked up steam in the hours prior to kickoff, creeping from 58 to 61.5 by kickoff. The Aggies hung 52 on the Gamecocks as the game easily went over the total.
Overall, seven of 10 games involving SEC teams went over the total entering Sunday night’s kickoff between Utah State at Tennessee.
