Every week throughout the season, we’ll provide some video highlights of the SEC’s top commits.

SEC COMMITS

Myles Brennan, QB, three-star LSU commit (Bay St. Louis, Miss.)

LSU isn’t exactly synonymous with good quarterback play.

Fortunately for the Tigers, a record-breaking signal-caller is set to arrive on campus within a year. Brennan broke the Mississippi career passing record last Friday night as St. Stanislaus won at D’Iberville 40-14.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder went 28-of-32 for 366 yards and 5 TDs — in only three quarters of action — to bring his career total to 12,801 yards.

Despite a rocky start to LSU’s season and some calling for coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron to be fired, the No. 17 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2017 remains committed to the Tigers.

JaCoby Stevens, S, five-star LSU commit (Murfreesboro, Tenn.)

The one position LSU hasn’t struggled to consistently develop is defensive back, and that trend looks likely to continue.

Stevens proved his ballhawk abilities by hauling in three interceptions as Oakland beat Blackman 38-0 last Friday night. Performances like that are why he’s ranked No. 2 at his position and No. 29 overall in the 2017 class.

Oakland coaches also found a way to get the ball in his hands when intended. Stevens flashed his athleticism and 6-foot-2 frame on offense, catching a 79-yard touchdown pass.

Mark Webb, WR, four-star Georgia commit (Warminster, Pa.)

Georgia improved its 2017 recruiting class to No. 3 nationally last Friday night when Webb, the No. 19 receiver this year, gave his verbal commitment to the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-3, 202-pounder picked Georgia over Penn State, Alabama, Maryland and a handful of other Power 5 schools. His commitment gives coach Kirby Smart a stellar offensive recruiting class that also features running back D’Andre Swift and quarterback Jake Fromm, a pair of four-star players who rank inside the top 50.

Webb committed shortly before Archbishop Wood fell to St. Joseph’s Academy — where Swift currently plays — by a score of 43-24.

Ty Chandler, RB, four-star Tennessee commit (Nashville, Tenn.)

Tennessee already has a pair of talented backs in Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara, but the Volunteers will welcome another one to their roster next season.

Chandler rushed for 194 yards and 5 touchdowns on 25 carries last Friday night as Montgomery Bell Academy won its fourth straight game, this one a 42-27 victory against McCallie.

Despite being a shade undersized at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Chandler is ranked as the No. 107 player overall and the sixth-best running back in the 2017 recruiting class. After committing to Tennessee about a month ago, he has rushed 70 times for 760 yards and 18 touchdowns this season.
