Today, take a look at 10 interesting tidbits about Week 3 of the SEC schedule:
- SEC teams hold a collective all-time record of 33-7 against their Week 3 non-conference opponents.
- The six non-conference programs playing SEC teams in Week 3 have combined for a 6-6 record in 2015. UConn (2-0) and Texas Tech (2-0) are the only unbeaten among them.
- Missouri vs. UConn and Tennessee vs. Western Carolina will be the first-ever match-up between each of the programs.
- Seven of the eight teams participating in conference games this week will enter their games undefeated.
- Kentucky‘s last victory against Florida came in 1986; a losing streak that spans 28 games.
- Though Georgia holds a 47-18-2 lead in the all-time series, South Carolina has dominated the rivalry in recent seasons, winning four of the last five meetings.
- Austin Peay, of the Ohio Valley Conference, has won just one game since 2012. The Governors visit Vanderbilt in what may be one of the Commodores’ few chances for a victory this season.
- Though the teams have met 36 times, including last season in Lubbock (Arkansas won 49-28), Texas Tech has not played Arkansas in Fayetteville since 1990. The Razorbacks last beat the Red Raiders in Fayetteville in 1982.
- Ole Miss broke a 10-game losing streak against the Crimson Tide with its 23-17 win in 2014. Alabama has dominated the series, winning 26 of the last 30 meetings and 48 of the 60 all-time contests.
- The LSU vs. Auburn series has a reputation for being a defensive struggle thanks to 12-10, 7-3 and 10-9 final scores in recent meetings, but the winning team has actually scored 30 or more points eight times since 2000.
