Week 4 NFL recap: Dent making his home in Houston

Former Georgia linebacker Akeem Dent was drafted out of Athens by the home-state Atlanta Falcons. Dent played two seasons with the Falcons and was traded to the Texans over the summer. He’s registered three total tackles on the year.

Here are some updates on former Bulldogs who made an impact around the NFL in Week 4:

  • Dannell Ellerbe: Ellerbe was placed on injury reserve after the first week of the season for the Miami Dolphins. He’ll miss the rest of the season with a hip injury.
  • Cordy Glenn: Glenn is the starting tackle for the Buffalo Bills. He’s started all four games for the Bills. The three-year player for Buffalo has started all 33 career games.
  • Tim Jennings: Jennings is currently a cornerback with the Chicago Bears. He’s recorded 14 total tackles this season, 11 of which have been solo.
  • Reshad Jones: Jones served a four-game suspension to open the 2014 season. He was reinstated on Monday afternoon by the Miami Dolphins.
  • Randy McMichael: McMichael is currently a free agent. He’s played 11 NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers.
  • Kregg Lumpkin: Lumpkin is currently a free agent in the NFL. He has five years of experience with the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.
  • Demarcus Dobbs: Dobbs is currently with the San Francisco 49ers as a defensive end. He’s recorded five tackles on the year.
