Week 4 NFL Recap: Swearinger, Jeffery highlight Gamecocks in the league

Texans safety D.J. Swearinger and Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery continue to play well for their respective teams, highlighting former Gamecocks efforts in the NFL. Swearinger recorded three tackles and a forced fumble in Houston’s win over the Bills. Jeffrey caught three passes for 39 yards and had a rush for 12 yards in Chicago’s loss to the Packers.

Here are some updates on former Gamecocks who made an impact around the NFL in Week 4:

  • Antonio Allen: Allen, currently with the New York Jets, recorded six tackles in the loss to the Lions.
  • Bruce Ellington: Ellington had one rush for 15 yards, two kick-off returns for a total of 45 yards and three punt returns for 25 yards in the 49ers win over Philadelphia.
  • Stephon Gilmore: Gilmore recorded three tackles in the Bills loss to the Texans.
  • Captain Munnerlyn: Munnerlyn recorded six tackles in the Vikings win over Atlanta.
  • Devin Taylor: Taylor, currently a member of the Detroit Lions, recorded a tackle in the win over the Jets.
  • Darian Stewart: Stewart recorded five tackles and a pass break-up for the Baltimore Ravens in the win over the Panthers.
