Using ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index) as a guide, Georgia has a 89.1 percent chance to beat Tennessee on Saturday.

Georgia ready for close game with Vols

In a rivalry that dates back to 1899, Georgia and Tennessee have split the series nearly down the middle with the Volunteers holding a 21-20-2 advantage.

Though the boys from Rocky Top have been down of late, Georgia is fully prepared for a 60-minute battle between the hedges on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs have won each of the last two contests by a touchdown or less and look to make it five in a row over the Volunteers.

Georgia can ill-afford to start 0-2 in conference play. With already having a loss to South Carolina on its resume and a trip to Missouri still ahead, the Bulldogs may have not said it, but Saturday’s game is a must-win. The ‘Dawgs have been one-dimensional on offense and still have holes in the secondary and face talent at the skill positions on Saturday for the Vols.
