No SEC team went into the double digits for penalties during Week 7 play, and no clear trend emerged around whether winners were more likely to have less or more penalties over the losers. There were instances of every single scenario.
Alabama was significantly more penalized than Texas A&M, but still won the game handily. LSU had half as many penalties as Florida, and also prevailed. Both the Auburn-Kentucky and South Carolina-Vanderbilt matchups featured teams that committed the same number of penalties.
Alabama has now moved into the most penalized SEC team on the season, with 47 total penalties so far. Auburn and Mississippi State are the least penalized SEC teams so far.
