The LSU Tigers thoroughly dismantled the Grambling State Tigers by a score of 72-10 in Week 2.
The offense was firing on all cylinders and the defense contained Grambling State all night long. After such a thorough beatdown, it’s no surprise that Kelly stated he was “pleased with the way we played the game.”
Brian Kelly: “We played the game the right way. We certainly started fast, built great momentum, and asserted our will in the third quarter. Pleased with the way we played the game.”

Jayden Daniels had a fantastic game, finishing 18-for-24 for 269 yards and 5 TDs. Daniels was removed from the game once the blowout was in full effect.
While that stat line is almost perfect, Kelly felt like his QB “left some throws out there.”
Brian Kelly says it’s “hard to take issue with five touchdown passes,” but still feels Jayden Daniels left some throws out there that need improvement.
Daniels finished 18-for-24 for 269 yards through one half of work.

Perhaps the most encouraging performance was that of RB Logan Diggs. Diggs was unable to play in Week 1, but finished with 115 rushing yards with 1 rushing TD in Week 2.
Kelly explained that the team knew what they were getting in Diggs and it was “just a matter of getting him healthy.”
Brian Kelly on Logan Diggs: “We knew what we were getting with Logan. It was just a matter of getting him healthy. He was ready to play. I think we saw the kind of back that is ready to help us.”
