What Eli Drinkwitz said after first quarter against Kansas State

Missouri has an early lead against Kansas State, leading the Wildcats 10-7 after the first quarter.

The Tigers’ offense has been clicking early on, and the defense has already forced a turnover on an interception.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz has liked what he’s seen so far, but now it’s a matter of keeping things dialed in against the fast-paced Kansas State offense.

“So far we’re playing aggressive just like we need to. We’ve got to capitalize right here,” Drinkwitz said to SEC Network’s Alyssa Lang. “I think (Brady Cook’s) making smart, discipline decisions, we’ve just got to convert on 3rd downs and everybody else has got to help him in the run game. I think it was a slow start (on defense), great turnover, now we’re playing the way we’re supposed to.”

Missouri started out the second quarter with a missed field goal, and now Kansas State’s offense is rolling into Tiger territory. Needless to say, a win over the Wildcats would be huge for Missouri, but the Tigers will need to keep playing strong moving forward.
