Texas A&M suffered a tough 45-23 loss to Alabama on Saturday, and will look to rebound against one of the weaker teams in the SEC, Arkansas.
The Razorbacks have lost their last three games, including Saturday’s matchup with No. 10 Auburn.
On Wednesday, Jimbo Fisher joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference to preview the Aggies Week 5 matchup and to recap what happened against Alabama.
Here’s what he said:
On Arkansas:
- They have a very talented team, especially on offense they really do but they’ve had some tough turnovers. I know Chad will have them ready.
On the streak over Arkansas:
- Well, each year is different… Those things come and go, it matters this week, it matters what happens in practice, it matters what happens in the game, none of that other stuff matters.
On Kellen Mond:
- He is trying to grasp what we are trying to do… there are still things we are going to work on… getting us in and out of things… I love his competitiveness, the guys really play for him.. He’s distributing the ball, getting it in the right spot, not that everything is perfect but it’s right the vast majority of the time.
Who is better, Alabama or Texas A&M?
- They are both very good, we are just trying to get better here. They are both outstanding.
Does the trophy in this game bring out more of your players for this one?
- Well, they are all important but at the end of the day, one win or one loss, I hope we play our tails off no matter who we play.
How do you handle end of game situations? Do you have a guy analysis that help you with that?
- We have times that we work on that, in practice… that’s something we drill into our team… If you can take a knee, I will always take a knee.
What does Tua bring to Bama?
- They are making strides in the passing game with Tua but their skill players have taken a step forward.
Is this another Bama juggernaut?
- No doubt, they are great but we battled with them.
