What Joe Moorhead said after Mississippi State’s win over Louisiana Lafayette
Mississippi State rolled over the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns Saturday night, 56-10 behind 6 total touchdowns from quarterback Nick Fitzgerald.
State head coach Joe Moorhead met with the media after the game, and started by giving updates on the injuries the Bulldogs suffered in the win.
Joe Moorhead didn’t get specific with the injury update. Said Kylin Hill and Jamal Peters both suffered lower body injuries. Said they’d be evaluated tomorrow.

He went on to comment on Fitzgerald’s performance.
Moorhead on Fitzgerald from last week to this week: Wasn’t much change in preparation, just noticed things on film he could do better. They were confident he would improve over the week.

More Moorhead on Fitzgerald: “He can get better, but it was definitely a step in the right direction."

Moorhead says Fitzgerald running so much in the first quarter was a flow of the offense thing, not designed. That means ULL plated defense to allow it to happen.
I’m guessing after watching this film, Kentucky won’t do that.

Fitzgerald finished the game going 14 for 21 for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air, and added 107 yards and 4 touchdowns on 15 carries on the ground.
Moorhead on Aeris Williams: “I was very excited for him. He came back and had a great week of practice, did all the things he needed to do from an accountability standpoint."

Moorhead said Cory Thomas’ suspension was a one-game thing. He’ll be back for Kentucky week.

Mississippi State faces the toughest road test so far in 2018 when it travels to Lexington to play Kentucky. The Wildcats are 3-0 and are still feeding off the win in Gainesville in Week 2 that snapped a 31-year losing streak to Florida.
