The Kentucky Wildcats moved to 5-0 on Saturday with a big 33-14 home win against No. 22 Florida.
It was a career day for Kentucky running back Ray Davis, who rushed the ball 26 times for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns. The 280 yards were the 3rd most in Kentucky history.
Davis also had a 9-yard touchdown catch. The defense was equally as impressive, as it intercepted Graham Mertz twice, and held the Gators to only 69 yards on the ground on 29 carries.
If there was one disappointment, it was that quarterback Devin Leary is still struggling throwing the ball. The NC State transfer was only 9-of-20 for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. After the game, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops talked about the huge win against Florida, as well as the play of his running back and the fans being a big part of an early kickoff.
Mark Stoops is proud of the #BBN. He asked fans to #PoundSomeBeers, and y'all delivered.
"I asked them to start fast this morning. I think they did. I hope they behaved well, or Mitch is going to give me a scolding."

Mark Stoops: UK wasn’t perfect again. But: “When we did put it together, we were hummin on all sides.” He thinks Kentucky needed to reestablish the line of scrimmage and challenged the offensive line to be more consistent.

Stoops on how this kind of success with the ground game impacts the offensive line moving forward: “It gives them a lot of confidence. It gives them a lot of pride.”
