Here’s what Missouri coach Gary Pinkel had to say during his weekly press conference on Monday in preparation for the team’s game against South Carolina.
Pinkel opened up by addressing the status of his banged up Tigers, who saw several key players go down in last week’s 21-13 loss to Kentucky.
INJURY UPDATE: DeSean Blair, Sean Culkin, Nate Crawford out. Kentrell Brothers questionable, Ian Simon probable. All others expected to play

Pinkel also addressed the health of his quarterback Maty Mauk. He said not all his underthrows are a product of his shoulder issue.
Pinkel: He's been aware of Mauk's shoulder injury. Said holding onto ball and issues with fundamentals also play into underthrows.

As for his standout running back, Russell Hansbrough, he feels he’s closer to getting back to 100 percent.

On the defensive side of the ball, the team’s stud LB Kentrell Brothers also went down with two separate injuries against Kentucky. He’s likely to be a game-time decision, and it’s not yet clear who will step in for him if he’s unable to go against the Gamecocks.
LB Kentrell Brothers is questionable. Joey Burkett is listed as his backup, but Clarence Green appeared to get 4th-quarter reps at Kentucky.

Pinkel was also asked about the health of Maty Mauk’s father, Mike, who was been battling cancer. Pinkel praised how Maty has handled the situation. He also had some good news about the surgery that Mike underwent for colorectal cancer on Monday morning.

Pinkel is frustrated with the Tigers’ offense so far this season. He said the unit met some key goals against Kentucky but none were reflected on the scoreboard.
GP: We didn't have a three-and-out, we hit our third-down goals, we didn't turn the ball over, we scored in the red zone.

GP: We're just not scoring points right now. It's frustrating.

While fixing the offense has been a season-long struggle, his defense will need to find a way to solve South Carolina receiver Pharoh Cooper. Please excuse Missouri’s official Twitter handle for spelling his name wrong.
GP on Pharoah Cooper: We recognize he's a great player. We're going to have a plan. Steve's going to get him the ball. We have to tackle him
