When it comes to against-the-spread, non-conference records, no league can touch the SEC after three weeks
Through the first three weeks of the college football season, the SEC has proven that it is still the dominate conference.
One of the best indicators of a conference’s strength is how they fare in non-conference matchups, and no one has done better than the SEC.
In Week 1, we saw No. 9 Auburn upset No. 6 Washington and No. 25 LSU upset No. 8 Miami, but the SEC has also dominated when it comes to gambling against the spread.
According to Jon Campbell of OddsShark, the SEC is a whopping 22-10-1 against the spread when facing a foe outside of the SEC this season, which is better than any conference by a long shot.
The other Power Five conferences are .500 or just a couple games above it. The Mountain West comes in at No. 2 behind the SEC, with a record of 19-16-1.
