There has been plenty of good quarterback play in the SEC this season, as Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Georgia’s Jake Fromm have continued to do their thing and LSU’s Joe Burrow has put himself on the national scene. So it should come as no surprise that they are listed high in ESPN’s QBR after Week 4.
Tagovailoa comes in second (96.3), throwing for 1,300 yards with 17 touchdowns and, most importantly, no interceptions through the first four games of the season. The man ahead of him? It is the man he won the job from in Jalen Hurts. The Oklahoma quarterback is barely ahead with a 96.8 ranking.
Trailing the Alabama signal-caller is Burrow (93.2) in the third spot. The transfer from Ohio State has led the renaissance of the Tigers’ offense, putting up 1,520 yards and 17 touchdowns to just two interceptions.
Fromm, coming off a victory against a tough Notre Dame defense, is ninth. The junior quarterback comes in with an 86.3 ranking, completing 75.6% of his passes for 788 yards, six TDs and no picks.
