Three-star safety Clifford Chattman of New Orleans, a Florida State commitment, opted to sign with Texas A&M on Wednesday morning, giving the Aggies a big, unexpected boost to start their day.

It was a last-minute official visit that did the trick for Kevin Sumlin and his A&M staff. He took an official visit to Texas A&M over the weekend and it was enough to get him to flip. He had visited Florida State on Jan. 22 and committed two days later.

He’ll have a better opportunity to get on the field quicker at A&M. The Aggies have struggled in the secondary.
