Will Johnson predicts Rose Bowl-level atmosphere for Michigan’s matchup with Texas
When Texas comes to the Big House for Saturday afternoon’s Week 2 showdown with defending national champion Michigan, Wolverines star cornerback Will Johnson expects an atmosphere of the highest order.
In fact, the All-American corner said Monday that he believes it’ll be as big as any game a Michigan player can expect to play when he signs on to play football in Ann Arbor.
Will Johnson on what he expects atmosphere-wise this week: “It’s going to be like. Rose Bowl, like the Ohio State games. And I feel like that’s when we play our best football.”

“It’s going to be like … Rose Bowl, like the Ohio State games. And I feel like that’s when we play our best football,” said Johnson.
The junior helped Michigan get its title defense started with a bang Saturday night at home, intercepting a pass and returning it for a touchdown as the Wolverines pulled away for a 30-10 victory over Fresno State. Johnson’s 86-yard pick-6 with 3:57 left put the finishing touches on the season-opening win.
With that Week 1 victory out of the way, Johnson and Michigan are turning their attention to Texas and star quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns opened with a 52-0 pounding of Colorado State last Saturday in Austin.
The chess matchup between Ewers and Johnson will be 1 to watch on Saturday, as the Longhorns invade Ann Arbor as a new member of the SEC. Though Texas will be on the road, the Longhorns enter as a 6.5-point road favorite per DraftKings.
