According to coaches around the country, they never negatively recruit other programs, but several other programs negatively recruit them.

On Wednesday, it was South Carolina coach Will Muschamp’s turn to play the negativity card, and he did it well.

During his Early Signing Period press conference on Wednesday, Muschamp seemed to call out rival programs like Clemson and Georgia for negatively recruiting the Gamecocks after a 4-8 season:

“When you don’t have the year you want to have, you deal with a lot on the recruiting trail,” he said. “About 90% of it is not true from some of our lovely competitors.”

The Gamecocks still pulled off quite a recruiting haul, signing 17 players. They still have 5 unsigned commits. Currently, the class ranks No. 16 in the nation and No. 8 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
