With Hugh Freeze officially out at Ole Miss, the SEC has its first vacancy since Les Miles was dismissed from LSU four games into the 2016 season. The Rebels immediately named offensive line coach Matt Luke the interim leader of the program and appear poised to head into the 2017 season with the former Freeze assistant at the helm of the program.

While Luke, a career assistant, may have an opportunity to win the job on a full-time basis, as Ed Orgeron did last season with LSU, the administration may ultimately decide a clean break from the Freeze era is the best way to go in Oxford. If that is indeed the solution the administration comes to, who will be the next Ole Miss coach?

Friday the first odds on the coach expected to lead Ole Miss heading into the 2018 college football season were released by sportsbook BookMaker.eu.

While the opening favorite is the field, indicating that none of the currently available options are likely to land the job, interim selection Matt Luke has the best odds of the candidates named on the list. After Luke, there are some intriguing names on the list including some highly-successful former coaches from premier college football programs.

Here’s the list, courtesy of CBS SportsLine:

Matt Luke +250
Blake Anderson +300
Les Miles +450
Chip Kelly +850
Greg Schiano +1500
Mack Brown +2000
Field -400
