Will Rogers on Monday revealed that Mississippi State held a players-only meeting a couple of days removed from a 41-14 loss to LSU.

Rogers was far from his usual self, throwing for just 108 yards on 11-of-28 passing. The 108 yards were his lowest since a 43-yard output against Kentucky in 2020. The Bulldogs were outgained 530-201 and were torched by Malik Nabers, who had a 239-yard, 2-touchdown day receiving.

The Bulldogs travel to South Carolina next needing a win to get things back on track. The Gamecocks gave No. 1 Georgia a scare before falling 24-14 and will look to build on some momentum gathered from that one.

Mississippi State isn’t the only program that had a players-only meeting after its Week 3 game: Alabama did the same after a sleepy offensive outing against South Florida where it managed 17 points in a win.

For the Bulldogs, the hope is that the conversation worked and that the message is received heading into a road trip to Columbia. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
