Xavier Loyd, one of the most sought after wide receivers in the spring transfer portal, has already been contacted by 2 SEC programs who are interested in adding the former Illinois State talent.

Allen Trieu of 247Sports reported Wednesday on the first day of the spring portal window that Loyd has heard from Missouri and Oklahoma, as well as Wisconsin and Louisville, among other suitors. Loyd put up big-time numbers last fall at Illinois State, catching 66 passes for 912 yards and 6 touchdowns.

And while those numbers came in the Missouri Valley Conference and at the FCS level, the fact that programs from the SEC, Big Ten and ACC have come calling for Loyd’s services in 2025 should speak volumes.

What also should speak volumes about Loyd is that he already has some experience at the FBS level of college football. Loyd spent 3 seasons at Kansas State, leaving the program after the 2023 season. He only saw action in 10 games at Kansas State though and after doing major damage at the FCS level last season, Loyd wants another shot at the big time in 2025.

By the early looks of it, Loyd could get just that, and he might just end up in the SEC this fall.
