Manti Te’o is a married man, and she’s a real woman.
“Yesterday I got to marry my best friend and the love of my life in an intimate beach ceremony,” his wife Jovi said Sunday of the wedding. “Although this was not how we envisioned our ceremony, it was perfect.”
The former Notre Dame linebacker married longtime girlfriend Jovi Nicole Engbino on the beach in La Jolla, California
The couple kept the ceremony super small because of the COVID pandemic, but plan to have a bigger celebration with family and friends once it’s safe.
“I couldn’t give you the world but I think I did better,” Te’o said on social media, TMZ reported… “I gave you my last name and it looks good on you Mrs. Te’o.”
Te’o, who didn’t have an NFL when last season started, attempted a return with the New Orleans Saints, where he played in 2017 and ‘18.
Te’o is most known for being the victim in a girlfriend hoax better known as “catfishing. Te’o was an All-American linebacker at Notre Dame whose draft stock fell after his struggles in the BCS championship game against Alabama. Front office personnel in the NFL then wondered if he could get past the distractions from the girlfriend hoax.
