Having second thoughts? 5-star RB Zach Evans will no longer be announcing his commitment at 2020 Under Armour All-American Game

Without a doubt, Zach Evans’ recruitment has been one of the more interesting recruitments in some time.
The five-star prospect from North Shore High School in Houston and the nation’s No. 1 running back prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, was set to announce his commitment live at the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game. The game is set to be played Thursday night starting at 6 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPN2.
While all the speculation regarding Evans’ recruitment is that he’s already signed with his college of choice during the Early Signing Period back in December, this news makes those rumors all the more puzzling. Evans is also planning to enroll early at his school of choice.
It’s unclear why Evans is waiting to announce something he’s not only committed to but apparently signed behind the scenes. Could he be having second thoughts about his decision to sign with a school?
During his recruitment, Evans has been a heavy lean at a number of different programs at various times. He also was sent home from North Shore’s appearance in the latest Texas State Championship Game.
While his commitment at the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game has been set for weeks, the game announced on Thursday that Evans no longer plans on making his commitment known publicly.
We’ll see if that changes before kickoff, as Evans has a few hours to make a final decision on whether or not to announce his college selection.
