PrizePicks Free Square: Kevin Durant only needs to score 1 point on Christmas for users to win big

PrizePicks is the place to get in on the action this Christmas season, and the discounts are starting early this year!

Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the nightcap of the NBA Christmas Day slate of games. That matchup of Western Conference powers is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, the last of 5 games on the Christmas slate.

PrizePicks is allowing users to take advantage of a Kevin Durant free square as part of its Christmas season festivities. If KD scores 1 point against the Mavericks that day, DFS players on PrizePicks can win big! That’s because Durant’s scoring total has been discounted from more/less than 28.5 points to more/less than 0.5 points!

Picking the “more” option seems like a no-brainer there. A Christmas miracle!

NBA Christmas Day Schedule

As has become tradition, the NBA dominates the Christmas Day TV schedule with 5 standalone games. Here’s a look at this year’s slate of holiday action:

  • Milwaukee Bucks at New York Knicks — 12 p.m. ET on ESPN
  • Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets — 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN
  • Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers — 5 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN
  • Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat — 8 p.m. ET on ESPN
  • Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns — 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

Yeah, that’s a superstar-laden schedule. You’ve got Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler, Luka Donic, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant all scheduled to play on national TV in an elite NBA Christmas showcase.

The NBA features its best talent when the world will be watching, and that’s certainly the case this holiday season. Currently, the Durant special is the only NBA pick available for Christmas Day, but you can anticipate some other exciting offers coming via PrizePicks soon!

How Many Picks Should You Make?

Generally, I prefer to make 3 or 4 picks and enter contests of that size. On PrizePicks, 3-picks entries have a 5x multiplier and 4-picks contests have a 10x multiplier. When you factor in the Durant free square, I’ll most likely enter a 4-picks contest around that discount for Christmas Day.

We’ll see where points totals are set in the coming days, but with so many elite players in the spotlight for the holiday schedule, there will be plenty of options for DFS enthusiasts everywhere.

PrizePicks is doing a “12 Days of Picksmas” promotion between now and Christmas. Kevin Durant’s free square was Day 1’s offer. Day 2 features a Flex Friday Protected Play, where you either win your contest or get your cash back, up to $30. You have to go to the PrizePicks app, find the “promos” tab, opt in to the Flex Friday offer and then check the box when you build your contest.
