My Picks for Warriors-Suns
Klay Thompson, Golden State: Higher than 0.5 points
This is obviously a great promotion you should take advantage of! Yes, last year was an up-and-down one for Klay Thompson, but he’s ready to hit the ground running this season. He should get off to a great start this year against a Phoenix team he always has a chip on his shoulder against. Take the higher option on 0.5 points and don’t look back!
Steph Curry, Golden State: Higher than 4.5 3-pointers made
Steph may be getting a bit older, but he’s still the best 3-point shooter in the league. He’ll want to remind some people of that fact after an injury-plagued 2022-23 season. I expect him to come out firing from long range, trying to set the tone early against a Suns squad that should have one of the best offenses in the entire NBA. Picking Steph to knock down 5+ 3-pointers seems like a reasonable thing to do.
Devin Booker, Phoenix: Higher than 26.5 points
The Suns have a 3-headed monster with Kevin Durant, Booker and Bradley Beal. All 3 of those guys can explode for 50 points on any given night. But I think this is the year that Booker firmly entrenches himself as one of the 8 best players in the NBA. He always likes having strong performances against the Warriors, so look for him to go for 30 points in the season opener.
