The 2021 NFL draft is over, and there’s a new Mr. Irrelevant.

Houston linebacker Grant Stuard has honor of being Mr. Irrelevant this year. He was selected with the No. 259 pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to close out the 2021 NFL Draft.

Stuard had a four-year career with the Cougars and was a very productive player. As a senior in 2020, he made 61 total tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery and one touchdown.

Kicker Ryan Succop is arguably the best Mr. Irrelevant of all-time. Selected with the last pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, Succop is still in the NFL today and made 28-of-31 field goals for the Buccaneers last season.

Here’s a list of the last 10 players to be named Mr. Irrelevant:

  • 2020: LB Tae Crowder, Georgia
  • 2019: TE Caleb Wilson, UCLA
  • 2018: WR Trey Quinn, SMU
  • 2017: QB Chad Kelly, Ole Miss
  • 2016: CB Kalan Reed, Southern Miss
  • 2015: TE Gerald Christian, Louisville
  • 2014: DB Lonnie Ballentine, Memphis
  • 2013: TE Justice Cunningham, South Carolina
  • 2012: QB Chandler Harnish, Northern Illinois
  • 2011: DE Cheta Ozougwu, Rice
