Feeling bored with your traditional fantasy football league? Are you just going through the motions every year, checking your lineup once, giving a cursory look at the waiver wire and then calling it a week?
It sounds like you could use a shot of excitement, and fortunately, there are plenty available options out there to rekindle your love of fantasy football!
Even if you don’t have much free time (or especially if you don’t have much free time), there are several fun and easy options to get back into fantasy football that don’t require massive time commitments. Here are our top 5 ways to get back into the mix ahead of the 2023 NFL season:
1. Underdog Best Ball Mania IV (the big one with huge prize money that will grab your interest)
Let’s start with the prize pool so we don’t bury the lede! Underdog’s Best Ball Mania IV contest features a total prize pool of … wait for it … $15 million!
And all it costs to enter is $25 per team. Users can enter up to 150 teams in the Best Ball Mania IV tournament.
If you manage to finish with the first-place team in the tournament (among more than 677,000 entries), you’ll take home a cool $3 million. Second place takes home $1 million!
There’s plenty of room for you and your friends to enter multiple teams in the field and compete for major cash prizes. And if you manage to advance out of the qualifying round (Weeks 1-14 of the 2023 NFL season), you can increase your winnings by advancing through the quarterfinals (Week 15), semifinals (Week 16) and into the final round (Week 17).
This tournament’s big selling point is obviously the massive cash prizes you can earn, so check it out on Underdog today! Use our Underdog Fantasy promo code to get a first-time deposit match of up to $100!
2. Other Underdog Best Ball Tournaments with lower entry fees to get your feet wet
Maybe $25 entry fees are not something you want to spend your bankroll on. No worries, Underdog still has plenty of options for you!
Here’s a list of all the NFL best ball contests Underdog has featured so far this year (with a few more surely still to come):
As you can see, there are plenty of price points for DFS users with any level of bankroll. The best part is that the prize pools for even the tournaments with the smallest entry fees are still big enough to make things fun!

3. Underdog Weekly Winners because there’s a winner every week and will give you another glimpse at whats possible
Yes, it can be exciting to watch your best ball teams build momentum every week as they rack up points and compete for spots in the final rounds of tournaments, but sometimes you need a shot of instant gratification, too!
That’s where Underdog’s Weekly Winners contest comes into play.
For each of the first 17 weeks of the 2023 NFL season, first place in the Weekly Winners best ball tournament will take home $20,000! With a $3.5 million prize pool, a total of $205,000 will be handed out each week in this new contest!
Since you’re not competing in a normal best ball draft, you’ll want to alter your pre-draft rankings accordingly. Strategically shooting for 1 or 2 weeks where you think you can go for the big prize makes sense in a contest like this one. That means things you’d normally watch out for like bye weeks and strength of schedule rankings are not quite as important in Weekly Winners.

4. Sleeper for a 1-stop option for all your fantasy football needs
If you’re looking for a convenient way to get all of your fantasy football needs under one umbrella, Sleeper is the way to go!
You can migrate your season-long fantasy football league to the platform (my friends and I did this and it has been an awesome experience), while also participating in daily DFS NFL drafts. The Sleeper app also lets users enter NFL and college football pick’em contests!
Sleeper’s app makes it incredibly easy to keep track of all your fantasy football leagues and contests. It also has a cool chat function where you can chat in real time with your fellow league members, friends you want to discuss pick’em contests with or even the entire Sleeper community.
Every time I open the Sleeper app, I discover something new and fun. It’s going to be a huge football season at Sleeper, so you won’t want to miss out!

5. Boom for a chance to win big money with Longshots contests
Want a chance to earn 40x your entry fee on a player pick’em contest? Sounds like a dream, right?
Not on Boom Fantasy! Boom offers DFS users a chance to win big by picking 3 player over/under lines correctly. But there’s a twist.
For the “Longshots” section, you can win big, but only if players exceed their over/under stat projections. For example, if Patrick Mahomes’ Week 1 over/under passing yards line was set at 300.5 yards, to win a “Longshots” square on Mahomes, he might need to eclipse 330.5 passing yards.
If a normal receiving yards line for Justin Jefferson was set at 99.5 yards, his he might need to go over 124.5 yards to hit his “Longshots” square.
But if you can correctly pick 2 players who will have big weeks and eclipse their “Longshots” projections, you’ll earn 10x your contest entry fee. If you correctly pick 3 players, you’ll earn a whopping 40x multiplier on your entry fee! That’s not a bad payout for getting 3 picks right!
