The 2021 NFL Draft hasn’t even started but the biggest news from the event could come leading up to the actual selection process as the reigning league MVP reportedly wants out in Green Bay.
That news was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter who shared the following news on Thursday afternoon.
“Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday,” Schefter tweeted out.
This time last year, the Packers traded up to draft quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, instead of drafting a player that could immediately help Rodgers and the rest of the team on the field.
Following Schefter’s report, Green Bay has issued the following statement:
“As we’ve stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond. Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team.”
That hasn’t stopped others from reporting Rodgers is seeking a way out of Green Bay.
Key factors: Rodgers prefers West Coast. Packers will want him out of conference. Packers prefer handing baton to Jordan Love, so they don’t need a QB in return. Top candidates would seem to be Raiders and Broncos, if they’re interested. https://t.co/pJv8klC5m4

Source with knowledge of dynamics says Aaron Rodgers could indeed be traded this weekend. The question is where?

Aaron told Packers he doesn’t want to return as @AdamSchefter said and I think it’s more than a contract deal, I think he’s pretty strongly convicted that he doesn’t want to go back to Packers.
