Andy Reid, Pat Mahomes torch NFL officiating for offensive offsides call

Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes were heated after another loss for the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday evening. While the Kansas City wide receivers struggled at times in the loss, the Chiefs had a chance to pull out a win against the Buffalo Bills.
Unfortunately, what would have been a go-ahead touchdown in dramatic fashion was wiped out by an offensive offsides call against Kadarius Toney. While replays showed Toney was indeed in the neutral zone at the snap, Reid and Mahomes went off on the officiating in the aftermath.
According to Reid, he traditionally gets a warning before offensive offsides is called, and he did not receive one on Sunday. Reid called the situation “a bit embarrassing” for the NFL to have that take place and indicated he’s never “had one like that.”

Mahomes went on to say the situation is “tough to swallow” for football in general. The star quarterback blasted the officials and the call “to take away greatness like that” for the play Kelce made.
“You want to see the guys on the field decide the game,” said Mahomes. “…To have a flag change the outcome of the game. I’ve never had offensive offsides called.”
He also reiterated Reid’s point that the Chiefs received no prior warning all game before making that call in the final minutes of action.

In the end, the Bills came out on top with a 20-17 win to keep their season alive for the time being.
