Andy Reid was taken to a hospital after the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Darlington via Adam Schefter.
The Chiefs lost to the Chargers, 30-24.
A source close to Reid said that the Chiefs head coach was in good spirits when he departed for precautionary observation after he felt ill. The Associated Press also reported on the situation.
Reid was feeling ill but coached the duration of the game, a team spokesman said, before NFL Network reported the 63-year-old coach went to the hospital in an ambulance as a precaution. The Chiefs did not provide additional comment.
“Coach just wasn’t feeling well,” Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub said afterward. “He did talk to the team.”
