Former Florida and Arkansas QB Feleipe Franks may not have heard his name called during the 2021 NFL Draft, but he found a home as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.
After AJ McCarron, the projected backup, suffered an injury, a door opened for Franks to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster. He made the most of it, putting together a solid preseason.
And, on Tuesday, the Falcons announced their initial 53-man roster, which included 3 quarterbacks — starter Matt Ryan, Josh Rosen and … Franks!

Whether Franks earns the top backup spot or is No. 3 on the QB depth chart remains to be seen. Obviously, Ryan remains the starter.
But, for now, Franks has a job in the NFL and will get a chance to learn from the 2016 NFL MVP.
