In the preseason, Hamlin made his first official return to the football field for Buffalo’s 23-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 12. He saw limited action in the game, but still finished with three tackles and a crucial fourth-down stop near midfield.
A week later, he was in Pittsburgh for the first time as a pro. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi was there to welcome him.
The 25-year-old worked as a backup safety and as a member of special teams during the preseason. Last year, Hamlin started 13 games for the Bills and collected 63 total tackles. His first game back on the field in Buffalo comes in Week 2 against the Raiders.
