Deuce Vaughn is a Dallas Cowboy. The former Kansas State standout running back found out from his father, who was understandably emotional delivering the big news to his son.
Chris Vaughn is a scout with the Cowboys. Chris used a different phone to surprise his son with the news that he would be the No. 212 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
“You want to come to work with me next week?” Chris asks, audibly choked up.
“I wouldn’t mind that all,” Deuce responded, drawing laughs and cheers from Cowboys staffers.
Deuce also heard from Dallas owner Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy on the call.

Deuce Vaughn had a decorated career at KSU, leading the Wildcats to a Big 12 title in 2022. He was recognized as Consensus All-American and named All-Big 12 first team by the Associated Press.
Vaughn ended his 3-season Kansas State career ranked first among active Big 12 players in all-purpose yards (5,029), second in career rushing yards per game (97.41). He was the only player in the nation with over 1,500 rushing yards and 350 receiving yards in the 2022 season.
Vaughn heads to the NFL as 1 of just 5 players since 1996 to tally 3,600 rushing yards and 1,250 receiving yards in a career. He did so in just 37 games.
