DeVonta Smith excited for matchup vs. Henry Ruggs III, Raiders: ‘That’s my brother from another mother’
As most college football fans know, DeVonta Smith and Henry Ruggs III were college teammates at Alabama and remain close friends to this day.
So when the two friends face each other Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles face the Las Vegas Raiders, there may be some hard competition on the field.
But once the game is over, there won’t be any off the field. On Thursday, Smith had plenty of praise for his friend:

Smith said of Ruggs that “That’s my brother from another mother.” He continued to say, “This is what stuff that we dreamed of, being able to play against each other in the NFL. Now, we are here.”
Smith also joked that if he saw Ruggs in a bunch formation where he runs the post, he was going to let his team know, so Ruggs couldn’t score on them.
Ruggs and Smith are having pretty good years for their respective teams. Smith has 345 yards receiving and 1 touchdown, while Ruggs has 445 yards this season and 2 touchdowns.
The Raiders will face the Eagles Sunday at 4:05 Eastern time.
