Former Georgia running back Elijah Holyfield is now looking for his next NFL home. The Philadelphia Eagles announced Sunday morning they have waived 5 players, including Holyfield.

NFL rosters have to be narrowed down to 53 players by 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Holyfield has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles for the last 3 years since going undrafted out of Georgia. He recorded 20 carries for 91 yards during the 2021 preseason.

The son of legendary boxer Evander Holyfield originally singed as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers after exiting college. Once his contract expired with the Panthers, Holyfield was signed to the Eagles, where he has been on and off the official roster during his career.

Along with Holyfield, the Eagles cut tight end Cary Angeline, defensive end JaQuan Bailey, wide receiver Marken Michel and linebacker Rashad Smith.

During 3 career seasons at Georgia, Holyfield rushed for 1,340 yards and 9 touchdowns.
