Travis Hunter is reportedly getting his wish.

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy at Colorado as a primary wide receiver and defensive back for the Buffaloes in an incredible display of stamina. There have been doubts about playing at a similar snap count at the professional level, but ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared that is indeed the plan for Hunter in Jacksonville.

“They told me they were gonna let me go out there and do what I do,” Hunter told the ESPN broadcast of the NFL Draft.

There have been plenty of questions about Hunter’s usage in the NFL in the lead-up to the 2025 draft. The initial list of invitees to the NFL Scouting Combine had Hunter listed as a defensive back. It was then updated to reflect Hunter as both a wide receiver and defensive back.

It will be interesting to see if he can hold up the workload he handled in college in the more physically taxing NFL.
