Jake Moody has delivered the first points of Super Bowl LVIII in record-setting fashion!
A rookie kicker out of Michigan, Moody was called on for a 55-yard field goal early in the second quarter. His kick was powerful and pure, splitting the uprights for the first points of the evening and setting a new record for the longest field goal in Super Bowl history.

While the field goal gives the 49ers the lead, Kansas City’s Trent McDuffie was able to keep San Franciso out of the end zone. He broke up Brock Purdy’s 3rd-down pass intended for Deebo Samuel that was on target in the end zone.

Kansas City was in the process of driving to tie or take the lead on the ensuing possession but a fumble by Isiah Pacheco gave possession right back to San Francisco. So far, this Super Bowl has a defensive feel to it but we are far from halftime.
