Jalen Hurts leading the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl LVII reignited a debate about which school gets to “claim” the standout quarterback. This weekend, Alabama and Oklahoma are showing social media unity in their support of Hurts.

Official Twitter accounts for the Crimson Tide and Sooners shared the same hype video celebrating Hurts’ career. They also commented on the other team’s post with a mix of the 2 Crimson schools’ signature sayings.

Hurts played at Alabama from 2016-to-2018, earning first-team All-SEC recognition in his freshman season while leading the Crimson Tide to an SEC title and College Football Playoff berth. Despite being pulled for Tua Tagovailoa in the national championship game in his sophomore season, Hurts remained at Alabama for a third season in 2018. Hurts surprised some by declining to use a redshirt in 2018 to extend his college eligibility. After graduating from Alabama, Hurts transferred to Oklahoma to complete his career. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in his season with the Sooners, leading OU to a conference championship and CFP berth.

After his 4 college seasons, Hurts was the No. 53 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Hurts had a career year in 2022, his third season, throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for 13 scores in regular-season play. He was selected to his first Pro Bowl and named second-team All-Pro.

Hurts and the Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday (6:30 p.m. ET, FOX).
