The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready to play for another Super Bowl title under head coach Andy Reid and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. On Monday, the Chiefs made some roster updates regarding a pair of offensive pieces with the game approaching on Sunday.
The team announced Monday that former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been activated and will be available to play in the game. Meanwhile, former Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman was placed on the injured reserve, effectively ending Hardman’s chances of playing in the Super Bowl.

Edwards-Helaire was the team’s leading rusher in 2020 and had over 1,300 rushing yards his first two seasons with the team. He last played for the Chiefs in a Week 11 win, but his effectiveness waned in 2022 as rookie Isiah Pacheco led the team in rushing.
Hardman was limited to just 8 games during the regular season but made it onto the field in the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hardman had stretches of effectiveness during the 2022 season but finishes with 25 catches for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns.
We’ll see how Mahomes is able to operate the offense with the latest moves for the Chiefs.
