Kevin Harlan showed on Sunday why he’s widely considered to be one of the best in the business. The legendary announcer was doing play-by-play for the San Francisco 49ers-Minnesota Vikings game in Week 2.
In the 4th quarter, Harlan announced that they were going to go to Nate Burleson in New York for a studio update. Unfortunately, Burleson was unable to hear any audio and was unable to provide the scoring update.
Luckily, Harlan jumped into action without a second thought. Nate Burleson was heard saying he couldn’t hear anything, while Harlan said, “I can, I can hear ya!”
Kevin Harlan kicked it to Nate Burleson for a studio update. Burleson couldn’t hear.
So Harlan did the update himself, impressing Trent Green.

Harlan jumped in and called the play, which was a touchdown catch by the Tennessee Titans’ Calvin Ridley.
“Ridley with the touchdown reception,” Harlan declared. “The former Jacksonville Jaguar, and Will Levis with the long completion.”
Harlan then jumped right back into his own game as the 49ers picked up a 1st down.
Harlan’s broadcast partner Trent Green was impressed by Harlan’s move.
