Kirk Herbstreit has reacted to the Super Bowl decision, and praised the Philadelphia Eagles for how they handled the narrow loss in Sunday’s Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs.

“So impressed with how the (Eagles) players & coaches handled themselves after losing the SB!,” Herbstreit wrote on social media. “Obvious ultimate competitors beyond disappointed & frustrated & instead of making excuses-blaming others-acting emotional. They answered questions thoughtfully & maturely. Total pros!”

Herbstreit regularly reacts to this kind of response, as the ESPN broadcaster promotes sportsmanship and unselfishness across the world of sports.

Herbstreit was likely referring, at least in part, to Jalen Hurts’ response to his fumble, which Nick Bolton scooped up and returned for a touchdown. Or James Bradberry admitting his own holding call in a key sequence in the game.

It was an entertaining back-and-forth game that saw the Chiefs climb back from a 10-point halftime deficit.

The holding call came on third-and-8 at the Eagles 15-yard line with 1:54 when officials flagged Bradberry for defensive holding, which negated the incompletion and, more importantly, gave the Chiefs a first down.

Replays showed that Bradberry made light contact with Juju Smith-Schuster, though it’s been debated by many fans and media since it was called.
