Matt Nagy receives news of his fate with the Chicago Bears, per reports
By Keith Farner
Published:
Matt Nagy is no longer the coach of the Chicago Bears, according to multiple reports including ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Nagy was fired on Monday morning, a day after he finished his fourth season as the Bears coach as the team finished 6-11 after a season-ending loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Nagy’s final records in Chicago were 34-31 in the regular season and 0-2 in the postseason. The Vikings also fired their coach Mike Zimmer on Monday morning.
Nagy may be most remembered for not being able to handle the quarterback situation well in Chicago as the Bears continued to struggle to find, and develop, a franchise quarterback.
This followed news also on Monday that the Miami Dolphins fired Brian Flores. In other coaching news over the weekend, the Carolina Panthers decided to give Matt Rhule another season in 2022.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
